Description

From the El Entierro del Conde de Orgaz suite. The title bears reference to the painting by El Greco, an artist very much admired by Picasso. The etchings in this suite combine circus scenes and allegorical images infused with eroticism, echoing Picasso s life and youth in Andalucia.

The etchings were printed in 1969 at the Atelier Gustavo Gili S.A. in Barcelona. The edition was limited to 263 sets, of which 220 sets on Romani wove paper were for sale.

Each etching was dated in the plate.
